4-Day Desert Journey from Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Pick up from your lodging at 8:00 AM. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains with a stop at Tizi N’Tichka Pass for panoramic views of Berber villages. Visit Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous film location. Continue to Ouarzazate to see Taourirt Kasbah, cross Skoura palm grove and Rose Valley, and reach Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek and Overnight in Berber Tent
Enjoy breakfast and views of Dades Valley from a strategic lookout. Travel along asphalt roads to Todra Gorges, explore the area, and have lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug. Continue to Merzouga Desert, ride camels for one hour to the nomad camp in Erg Chebbi, watch the sunset from a dune, and sleep under the starry desert sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Nomad Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi
Wake early for sunrise atop the dunes. Camel ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. Explore Erg Chebbi, the Big Dune (over 250m high), the Paris-Dakar route, Tissardmin Oasis, and nomad settlements. Visit Khamlia Village, enjoy tea and Gnawa music. Afternoon free to explore the dunes or town. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar Forests and Monkeys – Fes
Depart after breakfast, driving through the Tafilalet palm grove and Ziz Valley with panoramic viewpoints. Stop in Midelt for lunch and rest. Continue through cedar forests, spot Barbary monkeys, and visit Ifrane, the “Swiss town of Morocco.” Arrive in Fes around 6 PM and transfer to the hotel, concluding the tour.
