Early morning you’ll start travelling to Merzouga via Ifran, ceder forest, Atlas Mountains, Arfoud and end the day with camel trek. Your first stop will be at Ifran, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. During this desert trip you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbarian apes. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Er-Rachidia. After lunch, your desert trip continues along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We will drive through welcoming Berber villages to Arfoud then Rissani (Rissani is recommended during desert trip for Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday), the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga desert at the end of the day, we go to the place to start your camel trek where the guide is waiting to take you on an camel trek in the sand dunes and will stop for pictures during your camel trek then a long stop to watch sunset for a big dune. You will spend the night in an equipped camp that called Dihya Desert Camp or similar with drums music in the middle of the Sahara, enjoying starry sky and why not a milky way.
