5-DAY DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FES

Traveling through the high Atlas Mountains on the 5-day Morocco Desert Tour, you will visit many stunning locations, including Telouet, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the Valley of Roses, the Dades and Todra gorges, Ouarzazate, Morocco’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Touroug, a Berber village and El-Jarf, Erfoud, the Merzouga dunes, Midelt, Azrou, Ifrane, and lastly, Fes. You will have enough time to explore the allure of each location, including the desert where you can go on camel rides, have dinner, and spend the night in a camp.

Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains

The first day, we will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00 AM and drive you to Telouet, where you will see the Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui and stop for lunch at a neighborhood restaurant. En route, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the high Atlas Mountains. Following that, we’ll keep driving to Ait Ben Haddou, passing through the Ounila Valley and its Berber settlements, and arriving straight in Ouarzazate, where you’ll have dinner and spend the first night in a hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorges, Todra Gorges, Valley of Roses, Skoura Palm

After breakfast, we will travel to Skoura to see the stunning Kasbah of Amredil, which is part of the “Route of One Thousand Kasbahs” and is situated in a palm grove. We will then travel to the Valley of Roses, where we will encounter some nomad families who reside in caves, and we will visit the Dades Gorges to view the rock formations. We will then carry on to Bouldere du Dades for a lunch break before traveling to Tineghir and finally Todra Gorges to take in the breathtaking views of the canyons. We will have dinner and spend the night at the Kasbah hotel.

Day 3: Erfoud, Erg Chebbi, and Todra Gorges (Merzouga)

On the third day, you will drive toward Tinjedad for lunch at a neighborhood restaurant, stroll around the Palm Plantations to take in the crisp, clean air, and take in the breathtaking views of the Todra River. Afterwards, you will travel through a number of villages, including Touroug and El-Jarf, before arriving in Erfoud, where you will visit a local fossil craft studio. After that, we’ll keep driving to Merzouga Dunes, also known as Erg Chebbi, which are breathtaking dunes. You will ride your camels for an hour and a half after dropping your bags off at the hotel before spending the night in a traditional nomad tent amidst the dunes.

Day 4 Erg Chebbi – Nomad Family – Fossil Site – Tour Of The Dunes

You will rise early to witness the desert sunrise, which will encourage and inspire you, and then you will eat breakfast in the camp. You will ride your camel back to the hotel, where you can take a shower, go on a 4×4 tour of the dunes where you can see the black volcanic rocks with fossils, see how a nomadic family lives in a tent, visit the lake Dayte Sarji, which forms in the spring and attracts pink flamingos, and visit Hammlia Village, where you can experience their spiritual music of Gnawa. . After having lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied,
you will see the canal irrigation system, have a short walk on the oasis which are located on

Day 5: Azrou, Ifrane, Fes, Midelt, Erfoud, and Merzouga

Following breakfast, you will travel to Rissani to visit the Souks, the local marketplace, before continuing on to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufous, and the valley of Ziz, with a stop along the way for a breathtaking view of the Aoufous oasis in the Tafilalte region. After that, we’ll keep going to Midelt by crossing the Tizi N’talghamt pass. Following lunch, you will travel straight through the middle Atlas mountain range, the Cedar forest near Azrou, and Ifrane, Morocco’s Switzerland, to arrive at Fes, the medieval city. You will be dropped off at your lodging in Fez by our driver.
