Overview
Embark on an 8-day adventure from Marrakech through Morocco’s stunning landscapes. Travel the High Atlas Mountains, explore Telouat and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbahs, Ouarzazate, Draa Valley, Merzouga Desert, Todra and Dades Gorges, and camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Discover nomad villages, fossil workshops, and palm groves, enjoy desert sunrises and sunsets, and experience Moroccan culture and history before returning to Marrakech.
Itinerary
Start: Marrakech
Pick up at or near your hotel.
End: Marrakech
Drop off at or near your hotel or airport
Pick up from the airport and transfer to your Riad in the Medina, near Jamaa El Fna square. Explore the historical center at your leisure. Overnight in Riad.
Day 2: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Depart at 8:30 AM by private 4×4 through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at Tizi Ntichka Pass for panoramic views. Visit Telouat Kasbah and enjoy a local lunch. Continue through Ounila Valley to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and reach Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert – Camel Ride and Berber Tent
Travel along the Draa Valley, stopping to admire kasbahs and Berber villages. Continue to Merzouga dunes, transfer to nomad camp by camel or animal traction, enjoy dinner, and sleep under the starry desert sky.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Nomad Families – Tisardmin Oasis – Erg Chebbi Dunes
Wake early for sunrise atop the dunes. Return to Merzouga for breakfast. Explore Erg Chebbi, visit Tisardmin Oasis, nomad settlements, and Khamlia Village with Gnawa music. Free afternoon to enjoy dunes or town. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Erfoud Fossils – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Depart after breakfast to Rissani Market (Tue, Thu, Sat), visit Erfoud fossil workshops, drive through palm groves and Todra Gorges, have lunch, then continue to Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – High Atlas – Marrakech
Enjoy morning views of Dades Valley, travel along “Road of 1000 Kasbahs,” visit Roses Valley and Skoura Palm Grove, see Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Continue through Tizi Ntichka pass to Marrakech, arriving around 6 PM. Overnight in hotel.
Day 7: Marrakech – Medina and Historical Monuments
Guided visit of Marrakech Medina, Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. Explore Jamaa El Fna square and souks in the evening. Overnight in Riad.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport
Breakfast and free time in the morning. Transfer to the airport for departure. End of services.
