Itinerary
Start: Fez
Pick up at or near your hotel.
End: Marrakech
Drop off at or near your hotel or airport
Pick up from the airport and transfer to your riad in the Medina. Depending on arrival time, explore parts of Fes. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Full day exploring Fes
Guided tour of Fes Medina, visiting hidden treasures, Moulay Idriss mausoleum, Nejjarine Fountains, Tanneries, Royal Palace exterior, the Mellah, and ceramic factories. Panoramic views over Fes. Overnight at riad.
Day 3: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
Travel southeast via Middle and Higher Atlas Mountains. Stop at cedar forest to spot Barbarian apes. Continue through Midelt and Ziz Valley to Merzouga, passing Tafilalet palm groves. Arrive at riad for mint tea welcome.
Day 4: Merzouga area – Camel trek and overnight in Berber tent
Visit Gnawa people, Merzouga lake, and Rissani souk. Afternoon camel trek across Erg Chebbi dunes, overnight in desert camp with western bathrooms and dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges – Palm Groves of Tinghir – Dades Gorges
Sunrise on dunes, trek back to Merzouga, then drive to Todra Gorges, Tinghir palm groves, and Dades Valley. Admire rock formations and “monkey toes.” Overnight in hotel overlooking Dades Valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Kasbah Amridil – Palm Groves of Skoura – Ouarzazate
Drive through Dades Valley, stopping at Kalaat Mgouna (“Rose City”) and Amridil Kasbah. Continue to Ouarzazate for overnight stay.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech
Visit UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Cross Tizi n’Tichka Pass with scenic stops, arrive in Marrakech for riad check-in. Overnight in riad.
Day 8: Day trip to Essaouira
Travel to coastal Essaouira. Explore medina alleys, handicrafts, women’s Argan oil cooperative, and port. Lunch in medina or port. Return to Marrakech for overnight at riad.
Day 9: Full free day in Marrakech
Explore Marrakech at your own pace: Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Coranic School, medina alleys, Jamaa El Fna Square, Majorelle Gardens, and Gueliz. Overnight in riad.
Day 10: Marrakech – Airport
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your departure and end of service.
